Ero has been crossing the border at least twice a year for the last twenty years to visit her dentist. The Champlain, New York resident, who doesn’t already have a passport, said that she would eventually get one; she needs one to keep seeing her dentist. |

In 1819, Plattsburgh founder Zephaniah Platt became a defendant in a case still being argued today. He was indicted on three counts of nuisance after he allowed the building of a dam on the Saranac River. The first count stated that salmon passed from Lake Champlain and up the Saranac for a distance of 20 miles. The erection of the dam was an unlawful obstruction of the course and passage of the fish. |

Mary*, 26, a Clinton County resident, worked two low-wage jobs eighty to ninety hours a week. She was making roughly $9 an hour at a warehouse, and $7.50 at her other job. After growing tired of the strain, she quit one job and worked thirty-five hours a week. Her boyfriend was still working his two jobs at the time. |
