Who's up for Italian?

Local Italian eatery is bellissimo!

At first glance, I have to be honest; Mickey’s was not the cozy comforting place I expected. Sitting right next to a railroad track on the side of the road I wasn’t sure what was in store for me, so I quickly calculated the distance from my car to the front door. But as soon as I stepped in, I was pleasantly surprised.

Spacious seating and dim lighting for a quite atmosphere.

It may seem like just another local restaurant, but as soon as you walk in, the friendly staff will make you feel right at home. If you’re looking for a quick bite, good drinks or a nice quiet dinner Mickey’s Restaurant and Lounge in downtown Plattsburgh is the right place for you.

Mickey’s has a very clean, comfortable environment that is the perfect place to sit with friends and family in order enjoy time together.  They have very spacious seating in the dining area. Dim lighting makes for a nice quiet ambiance for a family dinner or a romantic evening for two.The service was impeccable. As soon as I walked in I felt welcomed and felt very comfortable even before I sat down. The staff was always very attentive and accommodating to my needs.

The food was even better. I split the spinach artichoke dip with a friend and it came out hot and bubbling. Accompanied by small pieces of garlic bread for dipping, it was the perfect treat that tastes amazing and satisfied my hunger.  My friend and I both agreed that there wasn’t enough garlic bread that came with the dip at first but it wasn’t a problem asking for more for an extra $2.00. My check, which included two beers came to $15.00 and thought it was a very affordable price for such a filling snack. Although I only stayed for the appetizer, I did browse the menu to check out some of the amazing entrees that Mickey’s offers.

Delicious specials and something for everyone at Mickey's.

If you decide to go for lunch, you can choose from a variety of hot and cold sandwiches along with pasta dishes or you have options of antipasto, fresh focaccia bread with olive oil or soup specials for that real Italian twist. To put it simply, Mickey’s dinner menu is huge. There is something there for everyone and one of the only menus that I’ve seen in Plattsburgh that offers escargot. The menu also includes some of the most mouth-watering Italian entrees from pasta Carbonara, Wild Mushroom Marinara, Pesto Genovese and so much more all ranging from $10.00 to $15.00.

The bar area was also very clean.  Although we didn’t have drinks at the bar, it was still equally spacious and comfortable as the dining room. There was plenty of seating at the bar and there were smaller tables for those who want to sit by the bar but still enjoy their privacy.
Overall I think Mickey’s was pretty good.  I think that it has something to offer anyone and still has that comfortable local feeling.
