Ninety-Nine Restaurant and Pub Story and photo by Jess Bellack High wood paneled ceilings hover over the stocked bar, equipped with several large televisions displaying ESPN’s top plays of the day. A bartender notices us entering and gives my party and I a friendly nod. Seconds later we were greeted by a friendly host and sat within minutes. The foyer gave away a theme of an All-American atmosphere clad with statues of Native Americans, eagles, and vintage looking signs which covered the paneled and brick walls. The décor also incorporated local signs and pictures, like one from the Mayor’s Cup that hung above our table.
Our meal arrived about fifteen minutes later. I started on my soup, which was especially flavorsome. The shrimp was equally as tasty accompanied by a tangy fruit sauce. My friend claimed his burger was both filling and delicious. While waiting for our check I ran to the bathroom, which I noted as especially clean for the busy lunch hour. Their motion censored sinks, soap dispensers, and paper towels allowed for extra sanitation. In 1952, Charlie Doe opened his first Ninety-Nine Restaurant and Pub, on 99 State Street in Boston. Now, this restaurant serves millions of people every year. The newly opened Ninety-Nine Restaurant, in Plattsburgh, New York offers a big menu, full of options for most anyone in your party. The check was a great value for the amount of food and degree of service that we received. I encourage you to stop by Ninety-Nine Restaurant and Pub, an exceptional place to kick off this year’s March Madness. |
