Halloween traditionally meant an evening of dressed up, pre-pubescent children in vibrant colors carrying round, orange, plastic pumpkins with wacky faces. Halloween was candy, candy, and more candy that seemed to last all the way to Christmas. It was parties in school. It was the sticky fake spider web that never seemed to go away. It was the feeling of smeared, cheap costume makeup on cheeks and noses. It was innocent youth.

Many women across the country are falling prey to the monster known as breast cancer. Unfortunately for anyone, breast cancer can occur in almost any woman, whether it is a mother, daughter, sister or aunt.

According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), along with skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States. It is the second leading cause of cancer death in women to lung cancer.

Republicans in the North Country?

With the nation getting ready for the upcoming election, there is much to consider with the candidates running for the presidential nomination. This past year has shown that the people of this country will witness a change in the future. The candidates are eager and willing to do what they can for this country and to make it better for all.

The Democratic Party itself has shown change in that this is the first time in history that an African American man and a former First Lady have been seriously considered for becoming a presidential candidate.
