New in Plattsburgh this year, CarSana’s Gourmet Meats and Delicatessen offers a wide selection of premier cuts of meat and cheese, and provides many gourmet options. Upon entering the Mediterranean-inspired bistro, the foyer walls are covered with intricate paintings. Woven baskets hang from the ceiling, accenting the deep purple walls.

A large deli case covers the far wall, displaying Boar’s Head cold cuts and cheeses, as well as desserts and pre-made wraps. The soup station offers selections like sausage macaroni and chili with beans. The hot case, priced at $4.99 per pound, includes wings, barbecued shrimp, and London broil. They also offer ready-to-grill Florentine steaks, shish-kabobs, and bacon cheddar burgers for take out.

I grabbed a sandwich order form and chose a toasted turkey sandwich on wheat bread. While waiting for my order, I wandered around the deli observing their gourmet pastas and Vermont maple syrups. The store was clean and the staff welcoming and friendly.

The only seating was at a small bar near the front window of the store, so my friend and I opted for take out. With two sandwiches, drinks, a bowl of soup, and a large bag of chips, the bill came to just over $20.

The sandwich was tasty, with just the right amount of meat, vegetables, and condiments. The ingredients were fresh and the bread was soft and hearty. If you'd like a place to grab lunch on a lazy Sunday, or are looking to impress your family and friends with a gourmet barbecue, CarSana’s is your one-stop shop.
