Airborne Speedway, in Plattsburgh, has been attracting fans and racers from all over the northeast on Saturday nights. Fans crowd in the bleachers to experience the sounds of revving engines, the sights of cars swapping paint at high speeds, and the excitement of a crash. "Racing the way it used to be," is Airborne's slogan. This is exactly what one gets at an evening at the track. |

It seems natural enough - after all, most people who have been performing jazz improvisation for more than 20 years would turn to teaching at the university level. Rick Davies, an associate music professor at the Plattsburgh State University College (PSUC), has played the trombone for as long as he can remember and is now combining his love for jazz with his love for teaching. |

Plattsburgh recently got a taste of the big apple through the collaboration of broadway actor George Hearn, with the Essex Theater Company. At the end of April, George Hearn starred, with his wife, in a musical production of South Pacific at Plattsburgh State University College (PSUC). Hearn has been in the broadway productions of The Wizard of Oz, Sweeney Todd, A Time for Singing, and Wicked, just to name a few. Hearn has been nominated for various awards over the course of his career. In 1995, he won a Tony for his role in Putting it Together. |
