Pizza Miracles at Mr. Mike's

For those of you who have spent the day sight seeing through the Adirondack Mountains, took the hike up Whiteface, walked along the busy streets weaving in and out of shops in Lake Placid, NY, while stomachs are saying, “feed me,” the place to go is Mr. Mike’s Pizza.

Italian lovers will enjoy this deliciously placed restaurant just down the road from the Olympic Arena.

It is a very quiet area away but not too far from downtown; so if you’re looking for a place to relax and quiet your stomach, this is it.

Mr. Mike’s allows their customers to watch in awe as their pizza is flipped and spun in the air like in those old fashioned movies.

I personally was waiting for it to stick to the ceiling, but I suppose I could say, “unfortunately” it didn’t.

I loved the big open dining area. It was almost like it could secretly turn into a ballroom after it closed for the evening and people in gowns and tuxedos would glide across the floor.

While I ate, music was played in the background of the dining area. It was music everyone could enjoy ranging from old school rock to hits of today.

Unlike with other restaurants you can’t see when your food is ready. Luckily, the kitchen at Mr. Mike’s is right out in the open, also called an “open kitchen,” so you can prepare yourself for he delicious food you are about to eat.

The waiting staff ranged from young to old, and always had a smile on their faces.

Personally having a nice waiter or waitress just makes it a better dining experience, therefore you don’t have to worry about having a moment like in the movie “Waiting,” where the staff do disgusting things to your food without you knowing.

Not only does Mr. Mike’s serve pizza, but they also have other Italian cuisines and salads—which I would definitely recommend—along with homemade breadsticks and a great dipping sauce that I think could be in the running with Olive Gardens breadsticks and sauce.

Their breadsticks are perfected to golden brown and accompanied by a tasty marinara

sauce that is seasoned with a delectable amount of herbs that will keep you asking for more.

As for the 21 yrs old and up crowd, you can enjoy a glass of wine or a nice cold beer with your dinner; giving it that Italian-esque feel.

I think those of you who like an enjoyable yet quiet and fun environment to dine in will enjoy Mr. Mike’s Pizza.

The classic pizza, whichis what I usually order, is perfectly melted with cheese seasoned with a mouth watering flavor that devours the lightly browned crust, breadsticks, a salad with your choice of dressing, though the ranch is one of a kind; sprinkled cheese, and a selection of vegetables. The best part is, it tastes great every time.

So, whether you’re taking a day trip to Lake Placid or reside in the small athletic town where the “Miracle on Ice” took place (Remember that?), Mr. Mike’s Pizza will show you that pizza miracles can happen too.
